Bismillah Calligraphy

In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Gracious.

Islam is most accurately described as submission to God’s will, and those who submit are called Muslims. It is more than a religion, it is a comprehensive system which has been designed and its laws legislated by God almighty to manage all the affairs of human beings, be it between individuals, groups, societies, to the whole of mankind and other creatures. The teachings of Islam are based on the Quran, direct revelation from God, and from the authentic teachings or “Sunnah” of the final prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Likened to the miracles sent by God to the other prophets, such as Jesus (Isa) and Moses (Musa) (peace be upon them), the Quran was and still remains the miracle sent to the final prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Quran has been unchanged for 1400 years to this day yet still remains relevant to the ever changing and ever advancing or degrading state (depending on your opinion) of the collective human race and will remain so until the end of time.

After the last sermon given by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the final prophet of God, God almighty revealed to him “This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion.”– Qur’an 5:3

Indeed, there is no compulsion in Islam, meaning, God Almighty, gives human beings freedom to choose to be either obedient to him by following the laws and regulations set out by him, or they are free to follow their own desired systems. Belief in Allah (One God) manifests itself in a Muslim through conducting oneself according to the rules and regulations set out in Islamic Shariah (Jurisprudence).

My blog site “Islam is perfect” sums up all my thoughts and feelings about my faith. If you are a non Muslim and looking to find out about the basic Islamic concepts, please leave a comment and I will try to inshallah (God willing) place some links and or articles which may be helpful to you.
